Project Brief
In order to improve user experience, attract a wider audience, and offer real-time auction involvement to a worldwide audience, a prominent art auction company set out to modernise its online bidding platform with full stack development.
Client Background
a century-old auction house with a stellar reputation for its well-curated collections and celebrity sales. Their current online platform was out of date, did not have any interactive elements, and did not have the thrill of live auctions.
Key Challenges:
Solution:
1. Discovery and Planning
We thoroughly investigated the auction industry by going to live events, speaking with important players, and researching rival platforms. A thorough technical definition that described the platform's architecture, user flows, and feature set was influenced by this in-depth knowledge. To guarantee a smooth connection with the auction house's current systems, we worked closely with their IT staff.
2. Development
To produce a dynamic, interactive online platform, our full stack development team made use of state-of-the-art technology. Because of its scalability and flexibility, we used a microservices architecture, which has allowed us to swiftly and effectively roll out new features. We employed PostgreSQL for reliable data management, Node.js for an efficient backend, and React for a responsive front end. GraphQL made data fetching more efficient, and Docker and Kubernetes made AWS deployment and scaling easier.
3. Implementation
We launched the platform in phases, with a beta version available to a small group of users. This gave us the opportunity to get input and improve the platform before making it available to a larger audience. To guarantee a flawless experience for each and every bidder, we carried out extensive user testing and performance monitoring. We also gave the employees of the auction house thorough instruction on how to utilise the new platform.
