  • Orlando
  • Entertainment
  • 18 Weeks
  • B2c
  • React Native, Figma, AWS, Node.js, PostgreSQL

Project Brief

The project goal was to create a unique theme park application development that would improve the tourist experience, streamline operations, and boost customer satisfaction for a large theme park in Orlando.

Client Background

The client is a major theme park operator renowned for its world-class attractions and entertainment experiences. They needed a sophisticated application to handle many elements of visitor engagement, such as navigation, queue management, and event scheduling.

Key Challenges:

Long wait times at popular sites caused tourists to be unhappy and lowered the overall quality of their experience.
Handling real-time data on visitor movements and wait lengths was complicated and necessitated extensive technology integration.
Integration with current park systems to handle ticketing, ride status, and event scheduling was essential yet difficult.
Providing customized experiences based on visitor choices and previous behavior was critical to increasing engagement.
Accurate real-time mapping was necessary to provide flawless travel around the park, featuring parking and lavatory facilities.
High user traffic during peak hours requires a scalable and dependable backend infrastructure.

Solution:

1. Discovery and Planning

Our team did thorough user research, which included questionnaires and interviews, to better understand visitor pain points and expectations. This phase entailed generating comprehensive user personas and journey maps to help shape the application's design and functionality.

2. Development

We utilised React Native to create a cross-platform application that was compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones. The backend was constructed with Node.js, and AWS provided scalable cloud infrastructure. PostgreSQL was used for optimal data handling. Figma was used for prototyping and user interface design, ensuring an intuitive and engaging user experience.

3. Implementation

The program was released in stages, beginning with a beta version to gather user input and make required changes. Continuous integration and deployment procedures meant that changes were deployed quickly without interrupting the user experience. Park workers attended training sessions to become acquainted with the new system.
